"What I love most about BANGS Shoes is the community. I love that since I've been a part of the company, I've met so many truly captivating humans and had some of the best conversations of my life. Everyone really is like a family. When I hear about someone's adventures and see their photos, it just challenges me to cultivate my own adventure."
We asked Aubrey some questions about how she #liveBANGS,
here is what she said!
Heyyyy! So, what do you think influenced you to become passionate about adventure?
My biggest influence for adventure comes from my parents. Growing up, we always traveled - whether by motor-home, boat, or foot, we were always going somewhere. They taught me how to appreciate nature and opened my mind up to all the possibilities that adventure can offer.
That's so cute!! You've traveled by motor-home, boat, and foot with your parents and throughout your life, which has a been your most favorite mode of transportation?
My favorite way to travel is actually a combination of two things: Car and Kayak. One of the best parts of the adventure is getting the kayak all strapped up on top of the car and pulling out onto the first busy road. I always cross my fingers underneath the steering wheel. I haven't had any mishaps yet, but you never know! I love driving out someplace new with friends, unloading the kayak at the nearest beach or inlet and paddling to places that would normally be unreachable without it. I think there's magic in places like that.
I can't imagine how awesome the adventures you've been on must have been!! Where is your favorite place in the U.S. that you've visited?
My favorite place in the United States (seriously hardest question ever) is probably the Florida Keys. Cliché, right? Being down there reminds me where I came from - no matter where I travel to, I'm still reminded that I'm from Florida (especially when the temperature drops below 40). It's both of my parent's favorite place and reminds me of when I was young and first learning that having a flat tire is awful and having four flat tires at the same time is really awful. Each time I went there, even into today, I always got the happiest feelings (even if the humidity ruined any chance of a good hair day).
Cliché is okay, because sometimes it brings out the best feelings!! Overall, What has been your greatest adventure and why?
As for my greatest adventure, in terms of vastness, my greatest adventure was a few years back when I went to Perth, Australia. It was my first time out of the country and I was scared to death. I flew from Fort Walton Beach, to Atlanta, to Dallas, to Dubai, to Perth and I'm still not sure which was longer: my combined layover time or the duration that my 102 fever lasted while on the flights. I got to experience so many new and exciting things while in Australia, like celebrating New Years in the summer.
Sounds like it was a crazy bumpy road!! I'm sure those experiences will never fade though. Okay, so, if you had one piece of advice for someone who wants to travel, but is afraid to pull the trigger; what would you tell them?
One piece of advice for someone who wants to travel, but is scared to pull the trigger would be, just go. Breathe, and go. In your lifetime, you are going to be given many incredible opportunities to see places you may never have thought could be possible, but some will only come once. It's important to open yourself up to these new experiences in order to learn and grow. Some things you just simply cannot learn from a photograph or a story. You have to see these things for yourself.
Beautifully said ❤️.
