Meet the rest of BANGS Kiva borrowers for May

May is almost over (woah) and we are super excited that all of the loans we backed are FULLY funded!

It is our pleasure to introduce you to Purisma, Majed, and Sulaiman.

Purisma lives in a Philippines and has owned and operated a transportation business for three years.
Her husband is the one who transports the motorcycle in the community. They both help each other to sustain the daily needs of their family.

Purisma is requesting a loan in the amount of PHP 10,000 to buy spare parts for her business so that they can maintain the up keep of their motorcycle. This loan will enable them to have a business that prospers.

Majed lives in Iraq and is a 34 year old father to four children.  He has a small shop selling seeds and fertilizers. Majed has a very smart son in primary school. He is requesting a loan to pay for his son’s tuition fees and other school expenses.

Each year it is very difficult for Majed to make ends meet and at the beginning of the school year he is worried he will not be able to pay for his children’s education. Like every parent around the world, Majed wants his children to have the best education available, thus giving his children greater opportunity for a successful future.

Sulaiman is 35 years old and lives in Ganda, Ghana with his wife and four children. In addition he supports two widows and their children; he provides them with basic needs as it is difficult for women to earn wages without a husband or father. Since 2004, he has earned a living by driving a taxi.
He became a taxi driver because he was unable to find formal employment. He is requesting this loan to buy a taxi. This will help him raise his income and save for the future.
These are all extraordinary stories of ingenuity and ambition. Although all these entrepreneurs hail from different parts of the world they all have one common goal – to ensure a better future for their families and community.
We think that’s pretty amazing!
Therefore, we’d like to thank you for allowing us to help these business owners help themselves.
